A true legend of European death/doom is coming to our festival! ASPHYX – the Dutch death metal juggernaut that has been spreading darkness and devastation since 1987. Fronted by the one and only Martin Van Drunen, whose unmistakable voice embodies pure extremity, Asphyx will deliver a sonic assault like no other.
With cult classics like “The Rack” (1991) and “Last One on Earth” (1992), the band cemented their place in the pantheon of death metal. Yet they never lost momentum – albums such as “Death…The Brutal Way” (2009), “Incoming Death” (2016), and their latest opus “Necroceros” (2021) prove that their sound remains as crushing, heavy, and uncompromising as ever.
Together with Van Drunen stand guitarist Paul Baayens, bassist Alwin Zuur, and drummer Stefan Hüskens – a line-up forged to annihilate stages with massive riffs, suffocating doom passages, and unrelenting power.
